Programs
At Clark Academy we strive to bring various programs to our students. We believe that the best way to learn is hands on that is why starting this summer we have put together new experiences for our kids.
Youth Employment Program
Clark Academy has partnered with SYEP (The Summer Youth Employment Program) to bring career exploration and opportunities to our KCA students. The program ranges from 15 years old and older. Through SYEP our students have been working with various staff members in the school. We have internships with our TA's, Clerical, Technology, Teachers, and more. This allows the students to learn and hone in on important social skills as well as further developing their work ethic. This program will help our students apply everything they learned to future programs and potential careers
Animal Programs
There are currently two ongoing programs where students get to care for, interact and train with animals, there is our Pegasus program and our Dog Therapy program. In the Pegasus program, the kids are introduced to some of the horses like Sherman or Mr.Blue where they groom, train, and ride the horses. In the Dog therapy program, our KCA students get to interact with a golden retriever dog named Simon. They train Simon to become a service dog, by reinforcing his skills to help people with disabilities. We believe that their connection and bonds with these animals can help them understand concepts connected to emotions as well as build confidence within themselves. Food Pantry
The KCA family has established a food pantry to support both our students and staff. Each Thursday we partner with a local organization and provide a balanced diet of grains, fruits, vegetables, and prepared food from a local restaurant, including a sampling of organic goods. Meals are distributed weekly and all are welcome to participate. This program aids in fostering the caring community that is KCA.
None of this would be possible without the amazing collaboration from Feeding Westchester, The Yard House, Meals on Main, FoodTown, and Stew Leonards. Thank you!
